Carolyn Humphrey serves as faculty member for Lead21, the national leadership program for land-grant Universities; and, she is the Lead Faculty for the National Leadership program for the Association of Academic Colleges of Nursing.
 

Carolyn Humphrey, Ph.D.

Carolyn is the founder of The Consulting Psychology Group, an organization dedicated to providing leadership development on an individual, group and organizational level. With 15 years of demonstrated experience, she has assisted a broad range of clients in the higher education, healthcare and financial arenas. Combining her background in counseling psychology and organizational development, her areas of expertise include leadership; executive coaching; the design and implementation of psychological assessments; and, the creation, facilitation and evaluation of leadership development programs.

In addition to work with her firm, Carolyn is a faculty member for Lead21, the national leadership program for land-grant Universities; and, she is the Lead Faculty for the National Leadership program for the Association of Academic Colleges of Nursing. Prior to forming The Consulting Psychology Group, she was a Senior faculty member with The Fanning Institute for Leadership at The University of Georgia and a faculty member with the University of Utah's Counseling, Health and Human Services Center.

Carolyn completed a B.A. degree in Psychology and Anthropology at Emory University and a M.A. degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Minnesota. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Organizational Development from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has published articles in refereed journals and has presented research at national and international conferences on developing psychological assessments as well as the transfer of learning from training situations to the work place.

Carolyn stays actively involved in professional associations and is currently a member of the American Psychological Association (divisions of Consulting Psychology and Counseling Psychology) and the International Leadership Association. In addition Carolyn is an Executive Board member of the American Psychological Association’s Society of Consulting Psychology. Finally, she is an outdoor and sports enthusiast and lives in Charlotte, NC with her husband, three children.
